Buy a stack of Christmas magazines and start planning, because, however you feel about it, Christmas is coming.


Buy a new fountain pen and notebook and spend the long evenings deep journaling. Be brutally honest with yourself.

Don't wait until December, string fairy lights in your kitchen now. Turn on as soon as twilight comes

Buy the best chocolates, hand cream and tea bags you can possibly afford, keep in your bedside table and refuse to share with anyone else in the family. You're allowed to have some things just for yourself.


if, like me, you live in the northern hemisphere, chances are there will be no alternative to drying your clothes inside for the foreseeable future. cheat outdoor freshness by adding wooden drying balls to your tumble dryer. Sprinkle with essential oils. My preference would be something seasonally spicy.
